It is a combination of: three micro filters, activated charcoal, and a patented, high purity metal alloy. The alloy consists of two dissimilar metals, copper and zinc, that once wet, create an electrostatic charge that attracts contaminants and electroplates them onto the media through a process called electro-chemical oxidation reduction.
